N.Y.P.D. STANDARD - NOTICING YIELDED PROCEDURAL DEFICIENCIEs

              G. I. Medina, Principal Investigator

DUE PROCESS INVESTIGATOR

Apogee Security & Investigation Services, LLC is led by G.I. Medina, a licensed private investigator and contracted Due Process Investigator with the Florida Justice Administrative Commission (JAC). Through this role, Medina has conducted numerous investigations in support of criminal-defense counsel, including matters involving the Erin Speyer Law Group, which includes Michael Berg, and other defense attorneys who maintain a firm commitment to due process, evidentiary integrity, and constitutional defense.

Apogee’s Defense T.E.A.M. — Truth, Evidence, Advocacy, and Mitigation — is built to support criminal-defense attorneys with disciplined field investigation, evidence review, witness development, and mitigation support designed to protect due process and strengthen case preparation. This Defense T.E.A.M. provides critical investigative support for criminal-defense cases within Florida’s 12th and 20th Judicial Circuits, Miami-Dade County, and surrounding areas.

Medina’s JAC assignments have included homicide investigations, fraud and theft analysis, self-defense case reconstruction, background verifications, discovery review, mitigation support, and witness interviews. Each investigation is approached with a focus on due process, evidentiary accuracy, and defense strategy integration to assist counsel in providing fair and fact-driven representation.

Medina’s investigative foundation was built through over a decade of law-enforcement and correctional service in New York City, where she worked in the Special Operations Division on Rikers Island and at PSA 2 in Brooklyn. These assignments required advanced investigative skill, precision, discretion, and sound judgment in handling high-risk and complex operational environments.

After relocating to Florida, Medina continued her public-safety work with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and Charlotte Correctional Institution, a maximum-security correctional facility, where she supervised and monitored high-risk inmates.

Her experience later expanded into brand-protection enforcement as a contracted field investigator for the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Working alongside the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and the Tampa Police Department (TPD), she assisted in multiple intellectual-property enforcement operations and was awarded a Gold Record by the RIAA in recognition of her contributions. That award was later presented to a TPD detective in recognition of joint enforcement success.
